Why We’re Saying No to Bartering
As a virtual assistant business, we’ve built our reputation on professionalism, reliability, and delivering exceptional value to our clients. Recently, we’ve made the decision to implement a no bartering policy. While bartering has historically been a means of exchanging services, we’ve noticed a growing challenge with maintaining the integrity and fairness that our business—and our clients—deserve.
Bartering often starts with good intentions, but we’ve encountered multiple situations over the last year where the exchange has fallen short of being equitable. Unfortunately, some businesses have undervalued the specialized skills and time we bring to the table, offering services in return that do not align with the effort and expertise we provide.
This imbalance undermines the integrity of our work and compromises the standards we hold ourselves to. As professionals, we believe our time, skills, and dedication deserve the same respect we extend to others.
Our no-bartering policy doesn’t mean we don’t value partnerships. In fact, it’s the opposite! By adopting this policy, we can focus on creating partnerships that are built on clarity, trust, and mutual benefit.
